Ten Years of Single Session Therapy and a New Chapter for the Blog

Ten Years of Single Session Therapy and a New Chapter for the Blog

The year 2026 opens with an editorial that marks an important moment in the history of the Italian Center for Single Session Therapy blog.

Ten years of consistent commitment to dissemination, training, and the sharing of scientific knowledge deserve careful reflection and, above all, represent the launch of a new phase of this project

The journey so far: ten years of growth and commitment

When I began this journey in 2016, the landscape of Single Session Therapy (SST) in Italy was still in an exploratory phase. The blog was created with the belief that it was necessary to build a space dedicated to disseminating the SST method, where professionals—and not only professionals— could find scientifically grounded information about this innovative approach.

Over these ten years, numerous articles have been published, exploring the application of SST in different settings, from individual clinical practice to community contexts, from public services to emergency interventions. Along the way, we also faced significant historical moments, such as the pandemic period, during which SST combined with online services proved to be a valuable tool for responding to urgent psychological needs in a context of global health crisis.

Space has been dedicated to international research, helping to disseminate scientific evidence from around the world, and key events for the community of professionals interested in SST have been highlighted—such as the 2023 Symposium, a moment of meeting and dialogue between those who shaped the history of SST and professionals who discovered the method along the way, strengthening the network of practitioners and researchers.

But the greatest value of this journey lies in the people. The professionals who have trained and follow the blog have allowed us to become a point of reference for those wishing to deepen their understanding of SST—a responsibility that guides us every day in selecting content of high qualitative value.

An expanding team: welcoming the new editors

This year marks an important transition, as the editorial team expands and grows richer. Eight new professionals join the editorial team, all trained in Single Session Therapy over the years and committed to placing their skills and experience at the service of this project.

This expansion is not only numerical, but represents a qualitative evolution of the blog. Each new editor brings a unique perspective, shaped by her field of work, clinical experience, and professional sensitivity. This plurality of voices will make the content even richer and more engaging, addressing the diverse needs of those who practice SST in different work contexts.

Goals for 2026: consolidating and innovating

This year, our commitment will develop along four main directions, representing both continuity with the work carried out so far and an opening to new forms of communication and sharing.

Introducing the team and giving voice to different areas of expertise

With an expanded team, we will have the opportunity to present the different professional profiles that make up the editorial board. We want the specific strengths of each professional to emerge—areas of interest and contexts of SST application—allowing readers to engage with a multiplicity of experiences and draw inspiration for their own practice.

Training readers through high-quality content

Training will remain one of the core pillars of our work. We will continue to publish articles that explore the theoretical and methodological aspects of SST, present the most recent scientific evidence, and offer critical reflections on the application of the method. The goal is to provide concrete tools to improve clinical practice while maintaining a rigorous connection to research.

Disseminating SST to an ever-wider audience

Dissemination remains central. We aim to reach not only those who already practice SST, but also professionals approaching the method for the first time, students in training, and public and private service providers who could benefit from integrating SST into their work settings.

Sharing implemented SST experiences

An important new feature for 2026 will be giving space to the real-life experiences of those who, after training, have implemented SST in their professional practice. We want the blog to increasingly become a place of exchange, where successes and challenges, strategies adopted, and lessons learned can be shared. These contributions show SST “in action”, translating it from theory to practice and highlighting its adaptability across contexts while preserving its core principles.

Looking toward the future!

The year 2026 opens as a time of consolidation and innovation, grounded in the experience of a decade of work and energized by the opportunities created by an expanded and motivated team.

Single Session Therapy is a way of thinking about psychological intervention, a focus on people’s resources, and the belief that every encounter can be meaningful. This blog was created to disseminate this vision and will continue to do so with a spirit of collaboration and great energy.
